Misura Electric’ Turbine Bolt Heating System utilizes variable-frequency inductive equipment and processes to thermally elongate turbine bolts in a fraction of the time normally required for the operation. These specially designed inductors make it possible for all heated bolting to be removed or tightened within one shift or less, and we have technology to accommodate any stud and nut arrangement.

Our proven method reduces outage time by days, which can save you millions of dollars in downtime. The process also minimizes safety concerns associated with the forceful removal of nuts with sledgehammers and slugging wrenches. Nuts can now be easily removed using simple hand tools, which reduces possible injury and lost man-hours.

Closed-Loop System

Misura Electric’ has developed a solution to the problems associated with water restrictions, which hinder the induction heating process. In nuclear environments the consumption of water may be restricted, and EPA regulations have required a more conscientious approach to the industry.

Our Closed-Loop Air to Water Chiller System minimizes water consumption by continuously circulating water through the system. Running clean water through the system can also improve product performance and reliability as well as eliminate cooling-water contamination associated with the use of «river water».

Electromagnetic induction heating training Misura Electric

Misura Electric LLC, has developed this course covering the entire spectrum of induction heating technology. Written by Fernando Granieri, it covers the role of induction heating in producing reliable products, often with considerable savings in energy, labor and time.

Taking a fundamentals approach, the basic principles of induction heating are presented as an introduction. With this as background, methods of selecting equipment, frequency, and power; designing coils; and installing such as heating prior to hot working, heat treating, welding and brazing and melting are described in depth. A lesson on special applications. The final lesson deals with the important questions of system safety and process economics.

This course was developed in cooperation with the Misura Ingenieria S.A.

Target Audience

Process, electrical, and manufacturing engineers, as well as heat treating personnel will benefit from this course.
